At iPaper we had a not too uncommon problem: growth that was tough to keep up with using traditional hosting. Just moving everything to the cloud wasn’t an option since we already had a large system running, and not everything fit the Cloud options available.
In this session I will walk you through how we moved terabytes of image data onto Amazon S3, while still running our systems at a local colo datacenter. Once onAmazon S3, we had strict requirements for maintaining local control of securing the data, while still serving it directly from the cloud. I’ll demonstrate how we coupled the Amazon CloudFront content delivery network with S3 to serve data in a secure and highly performant fashion, fully controlled and secured by our own colo hosted systems.
